Data Processor / Programmer

Reporting to       Data Processing Manager
 

Job Summary

The data processor / programmer will be able to organise and execute time-critical data driven by direct, interactive and database marketing initiatives. This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual that can work in a fast paced, time sensitive, high pressure environment; handling direct mail projects from receipt of raw data to output of production files, including data cleansing, data manipulation and postal sortation.
 

You will be responsible for processing customer supplied variable data files and on occasion responsible for printing mono jobs from fixed and variable formats. It is his/her responsibility to manage all resources available to maximise efficient output of work.
 

Data processors are in charge of processing personally identifiable information, as well as writing accurate, detailed reports based on the processed data.
 

Good communication skills are essential at all levels of the organisation. You will liaise with the your team, Production Manager, Pre-Press, Factory Manager and other departments to ensure good communications and smooth progress of work to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
 

Qualifications

• A-Level or higher
 

Key Experience Required:

• 12 months plus experience processing data for mailing services (Desirable)
• Experience in a data processing capacity is generally required or preferred, and technology certifications may be beneficial.
• Experience of software programming is (Desirable)
 

Key Skills Required:

• A tech/data processing & programming background.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, and close attention to detail, making logical deductions from the presented data
• Delphi (Desirable)
• Cygnus and Pres software knowledge (Desirable)
• Excellent typing and reading comprehension skills to manage large amounts of information.
• Intermediate MS Office skills including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets. Knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing.
• Must be well organized, extremely detail oriented and have great communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to multi-task multiple execution team deliverables and meet deadlines
• Problem Solving
• Working under pressure and to tight timescales
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and commitment – a recognition that this is not an 9-5 role (additional OT hours will be required)
• Commitment to ongoing personal learning and development and team progression
• The ability to “think outside of the box” and to appropriately challenge the status quo to progress the business
 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work within estimated times on job bag
• Processing customer data and relaying information to account management team as necessary.
• Sort and process incoming documents or data by forwarding, coding, transforming into standard format, etc.
• Must be able to manage multiple work streams, ensure work progresses as planned and proactively raise issues and suggest solutions.
• Ensure that every aspect of work is captured on the Intranet Data Capture system
• Help with running the laser machines within the personalisation suite
• Any other task as required by the business within reason.

Press Operator

 

Reporting to       Production Manager
 

Job Summary

The Press Minder is responsible for printing full colour lithographic high definition print using the latest Heidelberg XL technology with Inpress control.  This exciting role involves the printing of high quality full colour commercial print for a wide variety of industries.
 

Overview of daily tasks

• Efficient make ready and running of high performance printing presses
• Customer satisfaction with regard to quality
• Working on double day shift basis
• Maintenance of machinery
 

The Candidate

We are currently looking for an experienced individual with a positive mindset.
You must have a keen eye for detail and firm understanding of commercial print.
 

Key attributes include

• Experience of running lithographic printing presses
• Excellent eye for detail
• Quality conscious and efficient
• Confident team player
• Flexible approach to shift work and overtime
 

Experience Required

• Previous press room experience – (a minimum of 1 year experience within the print industry) is essential.
• Proven track record of KPI delivery
• Proven experience of operating multiple Heidelberg presses
