Senior Account Manager

Reporting to       Head of Account Management (HAM)

Job Summary

To provide an excellent customer service to all our customers, ensuring orders are processed in a timely and efficient manner. Build relationships with clients to encourage repeat and new business opportunities. Good communication skills are essential at all levels of the organisation and externally. You will liase with Clients, Production Scheduler, Sales department, your team and other departments to ensure good communications and smooth progress of work to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.

Key Roles

Ultimately your performance as Account Executive will be judged by many areas of your work broken down below, however the most important of these are the following:

• Ensure that customer accounts are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, addressing any problems that may arise.
• Ensure that production is furnished with the most up to date information regarding all jobs as they progress.
• Encourage close working practices between account management and other areas especially production, commercial and sales departments.
• Ensure that all procedures are completed and that ISO quality standards are met. Suggest any changes that may enhance or improve both the working practices and the quality of the product or changes that may be required to be compliant with the selected mailing method.
• Become familiar with the production process, spending time on the production floor, following through jobs as they progress and reporting back to the client as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Write up job bags after checking the information on the quote and client supplied PO is correct.
• Check the job bags at the point of sign off ensuring the information is correct and matches the artwork/mailing spec.
• Create a campaign schedule for each job to manage customer expectations.
• Ensure the schedule is being adhered and events are updated on Tharstern throughout the course of each project.
• Work with the available internal and external resources to ensure that the programme is run successfully.
• Where applicable, the account manager will be responsible for updating quotes using the company print and mailing M.I.S.
• Book in collections as required from RM or Relevant DSA.
• Produce mailing dockets via OBA for all campaigns as required.
• Liaise with third party suppliers and agree on budgets for bought-in services in line with costs linked to outwork on job bags.
• Provide cover for Account Executives within your team, in their absence.
• Liaise with Production Manager the key milestones for jobs including artwork receive and approval dates based on delivery date required, updating with new schedules if these dates change.
• Operate to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards as stated in the Pepper QEM’s manual
• Must adjust and embrace change as and when it happens
• Other duties as required by the company

The position is based in our Plymouth HQ production facility.

Press Operator

Reporting to       Production Manager

Job Summary

The Press Minder is responsible for printing full colour lithographic high definition print using the latest Heidelberg XL technology with Inpress control.  This exciting role involves the printing of high quality full colour commercial print for a wide variety of industries.

Overview of daily tasks

• Efficient make ready and running of high performance printing presses
• Customer satisfaction with regard to quality
• Working on double day shift basis
• Maintenance of machinery

The Candidate

We are currently looking for an experienced individual with a positive mindset.
You must have a keen eye for detail and firm understanding of commercial print.

Experience Required

• Previous press room experience – (a minimum of 1 year experience within the print industry) is essential.

Graphic Designer

Job Summary

Design and produce artwork ready for print in a variety of forms, to a commercial standard from client instructions. You will also be required to read in and prepare client files for successful output to the PDF-CTP workflow. You will help ensure that the production workflow runs as smoothly as possible.

Educational Requirements

Essential – 7 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C or above to include English and Maths at grade C or above.
Desirable – A-level, national diploma, NVQ or equivalent in graphic design (or related subject )

Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years experience using Adobe Creative Suite
• Proven track record of creative design projects
• Minimum of 3 years experience working within the printing industry
• Pre Press Imposition experience desirable but not essential
• Web design/programming skills desirable but not essential

Key Skills Required

• Adobe CS suite particularly Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Microsoft Office
• Problem Solving
• Strong eye for quality, detail and colour
• Strong team working skills
• Understanding of Print & Direct Mail environment (minimum of 3 years)
• Tharstern M.I.S (desirable)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Produce artwork to job bag specifications
• Work within estimated artwork times on the job bag specification

• Communicate to Production department if work is going to run over the estimated time stated on the job bag
• Make sure that you follow all the procedures relevant to your job stringently
• To be responsible for all corrections and revisions that need to be completed on files
• Make production aware of any changes to the job in progress however communicated by the client (i.e. on proof, job notes with files submitted, by phone, email etc)
• Communicate any ideas that you have to the Production Director that would improve the way we work at the departments monthly meeting
• Keep working area clean and tidy at all times due to the customer facing element of the job
• Ensure excellent upkeep and maintenance of the job files and associated digital collateral within the studio workflow
• Liaise with CTP to ensure smooth transition of work through PDF-CTP Workflow

Senior Post Press Machine Operator

Job Summary

The Print/Mail Machine Operator is responsible for operating all finishing kit relating to the services as supplied by Pepper. Machines to be worked on include Heidelberg ST350, Stahl Folders, Polar Guillotine, Duplo Creasing Machine, Duplo Collation Machine.

Good communication skills are essential at all levels of the organisation and externally. You will liaise with the Production Scheduler and your team and other departments to ensure good communications and smooth progress of work to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work within estimated production times on the job bag specification
• Minimise waste of labour time and materials and maximise quality at all times
• Be responsible for all work produced on the machines. If there any quality issues whilst running then this is to be communicated to the Production Scheduler at the earliest opportunity
• Ensure that every aspect of work is captured on the Intranet Data Capture system
• Maintain and clean machine on a daily basis and ensure machinery is kept in good working order
• Meet the deadlines set by the works list and the job bag
• Make sure that you follow all the procedures relevant to your job stringently, concentrating on utilising all the technology available
• Communicate any work improvement ideas that you have to the Production Director during the department update monthly meetings
• To ensure that make ready sheets and file copies are quite clearly separated and marked accordingly and samples are put into the job bag
• Ensure the smooth hand-over of jobs and workloads to the following shift and to the finishing department communicating any potential issues
• Liaise with finishing departments to ensure smooth flow of work and maximum quality on all jobs
• Drive the forklift truck when required
• Clean Waste and general working areas regularly.
